Samsung Galaxy Tab review-Is it an iPad Killer?

After spending the last couple of days with the Galaxy Tab, I can confidently say it's the best Android tablet on the market. Now, that's not saying much given the state of the Android competition, but we can also assuredly say that the Tab is the first true competitor to Apple's iPad. Its crisp display, compact form factor, touch-friendly software and dual cameras undoubtedly have what it takes to win over the average tablet seeker. However, we still have some reservations right now. Google hasn't yet provided any direction on Android as a tablet platform, which means that the Tab is held back by lagging application support and software that doesn't fully take advantage of the extra screen real estate. Remember, that when the iPad launched many developers were already working on tablet specific apps and Apple had an iPad app store in place. Put simply, without that ecosystem and support from Google, Samsung is left to its own devices -- literally. Just today Samsung rolled out an emulator for the Tab that uses the Android SDK and the company says it's working with Google and plans to use future iterations of Android, so we'll have to see what happens -- but for now it looks like the saga of the Samsung Galaxy Tab still has several chapters to go.

My Sprint EVO experience

I admit I was pretty skeptical about my new EVO. The only reason I purchased it was cause I am a technology junkie and I had to get my hands on a phone as tightly spec'ed as the EVO.I am an iphone user but I had owned a Hero and a Moment before so I was pretty familiar with android. When I brought it home I hid my iphone so I would be forced to use the EVO for all my daily phone tasks. Android's user experience isn't nearly as solid as iphone os 3.0 but it is solid nonetheless. Its not that android isn't functional its just that it often take more button presses on the EVO then it take son my 3gs for the same task. Once I stopped resisting and adapted to the process it was very intuitive. The front facing camera is the thing that won me over because I love to video chat and stream my life to the world. 4G is great when you have a signal but the battery life on this things sucks ass. Way worse than the iphone and thats saying a lot. All in all if the EVO plans were as costly as the iphone then I wouldn't use this gorgeous phone, however since it is on sprint the value is unparalleled. The new iphone comes out in 3 weeks and it matches the EVO in almost every category. i have to admit that i am getting it and the Evo will be use as a business line. If your stuck with one carrier and are looking to save money than I choose the EVO, but if your money is long enough I definitely suggest the iphone, or you can get like me and get both.

New Fake Iphone os 4.0 spotted

This is a bit of a confusing one, but we just got tipped an additional shot of this 4th generation iPhone thatleaked out in Vietnam, but this time with a big twist: it appears to be running iPhone OS 4. Or at least displaying a screenshot of the new OS, with that telltale wallpaper in the background. We have no idea how this crew might've circumvented Apple's lockdown of the device, and there's always the chance this is some sort of Photoshop or other trickery. Still, a source has confirmed to us that the markings "N90 PRO2" indicate an older prototype N90 (the Apple codename for the new iPhone), which refers to "Working Prototype 2" and might possibly be easier to enable than the newer, lock tight model Gizmodoobtained. Also, despite the photo's out-of-focus nature, the display (or at least its contents) doesn't appear nearly as sharp as those previous shots we saw of the "fireball" screen. We're digging for more info as we speak, but unfortunately the original source site, Taoviet, is down right now. We'll keep you posted if we hear anything else about this image's origins.
